Skies Over Snowshoe Ski Resort

Regular readers know I recently spent a weekend at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park in West Virginia. While there Hubs and I drove on up the mountain to the Snowshoe Ski Resort. Of course it was too early for snow but we enjoyed the views and the sky above us. Click on this first photo and scroll through the skies we enjoyed that evening.This second shot was taken seventeen minutes after the first one. Amazing how the colors and the mood can change so quickly.
As I turned to look behind me I saw the moon floating in a lovely field of blue.Twenty-four minutes after the first shot above this was the sunset we witnessed over the West Virginia Mountains - the words "Almost Heaven" seemed appropriate.

    Snowshoe is another place I want Buddy to take me. This weekend we are going up into Shenandoah NAtional PArk. Buddy is running a shuttle for 2 AT hikers from New Jersey so I am going along. Hoping for good weather and NO rain. These view you captures are divine. You are making me want to make the trip even more. genie

    It does seem like almost heaven. I love to see a progression of sky changes like this -- makes it very easy to imagine I am sitting there watching it!
