Lovely iridescent colors of blue and green on his head.
Look at those feathers! As always this was taken through my sunroom window. I love the colors on the grackle. When they turn into the sunlight their feathers glisten and shine.
Ground feeders? Nah, not always!

Great shots! You are able to capture its glistening and shiny colors. Good job, Carletta!
ReplyDeleteDon't his colours blend beautifully with the feeder. Lovely shot!
ReplyDeleteExcellently captured this bird's irredesence. FAB.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bird but a noisy one. My neighbors do not like them, but they are better than their dogs - not so much poop.
ReplyDeleteGreat work.
Beautiful sheen on the feathers. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful bird to share. Lovely images.
ReplyDeleteThey are so lovely!
ReplyDeleteI do love the beautiful grackles!
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten about the grackle's head being blue. It looks pretty on the one whose picture you took.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
..
they are stunning!!
ReplyDeleteNice photos of the Grackle! Handsome birds - they are fun to watch. A rather large group (a plague is the collective noun) just arrived in our yard a couple of hours ago. They didn't cause much mischief but I suspect they're the culprits who made a large hole in the finch feeder!
ReplyDeleteReally colourful aren't they? Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteI always amazed by the iridescence of some birds' feathers. Your grackle is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSweet capture! You have caught the fire of this bird wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteI like the iridescence! I've noticed it, but never thought to photograph it, great idea.
ReplyDeleteNice captures of a lovely backyard visitor. It's great to see it's beautiful iridescence as well.
ReplyDeleteLove the purple colors. Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty! We have ground feeders here, too, that happily perch on my feeder and even the suet cages, but none of them are quite this lovely.
ReplyDeleteFascinating, rich colour tones in the grackle! Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteNow that is the kind of bird I would shoot....with a gun. :) We fought those things when I was a kid. We would plant our corn and when it started coming up the would get in the field and pull at the top to get the kernel.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful color. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteGreat captures,well done!
ReplyDeletei love his expression in the top shot
ReplyDeleteso intent
What a shiny creature - nice captures!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful...I have some that come to my feeders also...love looking at all the colors.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you ever get the chance, look at turkey featers...the short ones turn all kinds of colors, too. It is almost unbelievable. I have tried to photograph them but the photos never capture all the color.
wow, the feathers are beautiful! wonderful captures!
ReplyDeleteGrackles are such handsome birds! Always dressed for an evening out on the town :-)
ReplyDeleteThis grackle surely goes in style:)
ReplyDeleteThey are very pretty! I love the way the light plays off them.
