Ruby Tuesday: Rural Patriotism

(enlarge for best view)
Driving down a country road Hubs and I came around the bend and saw this idyllic rural scene with the American flag flying high above the farm silo. What made it even more picturesque was the field of ironweed in front of it. I was especially pleased that there was a small breeze so that the flag waved proudly in the wind.
Additional maco photos of the ironweed and one with a butterfly feeding can be found on my photoblog. The purple wildflowers in the field take on a whole new look up close.

  2. PERFECT, Carletta.... I find that hard-working farm and ranch people who live in the country are usually VERY patriotic... That's one reason I love them and love talking to them so much. They truly love our country --and are probably living the lives their ancestors lived... God Bless them.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  3. I'm a country girl myself, and find great pleasure in the genuine and simple things.
The flag and wildflowers in rural surroundings are just great.

  8. This is a wonderful farm, honest and hardworking. The silo hopefully gets filled up with grain before the winter. The wildflowers are a mauve beauty, the barn set nicely upon on a steep WV hill. The best feature is the flag, furling proudly in a breeze. A total view of hardworking people in a free land!

  11. As for us here, it's very rare to find our flag in a rural area. it's really a nice surprise to find like that there.

  18. Thank you for stopping and commenting at Shabby Tea Party. You have some great photos and I must say your first 8 or so music selections are the most amazing pieces. Enya is so hypnotizing and I have always LOVED "Somewhere in Time" ever since the first time I saw the movie of the same name. I'm going to have to go out and get the Kenny G version, I replayed to it about 6 times here, full volume so as to immerse myself in it. LOL I'll be back!

  19. Lovely! I saw the macro of the Ironweed on your other blog and now, between the two, I think I could actually identify this plant! I always learn something from your posts.
