Even though the coneflowers have seen better days there is still plenty for the bees to enjoy!Though many of the flowers have peeked summer is still very much with us. Our local weather forecast is calling for nice low humidity weather for the next couple of days until Wednesday when we are looking to see a high of 95 and 'feel like temperatures' of between 100 - 105!
Looks like the flowers won't be the only thing wilting!!

I feel for you all back East with that weather. It must be miserable. But then you post a photo like this and it just makes everything seem better and not so hot. :) Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture, Carletta. Our temps arre supposed to reach 98º with the possibility of 100º and I think I heard it said feel like 120!
ReplyDeleteI wish your bees would come our way. In my neighborhood, no one had a very productive garden when in came to the squash, melons, and cucumbers. We all noticed a lack of bees to pollinate things!

ReplyDeleteGreat photo of a bee and the coneflower. Even though the coneflower seems to have seen better days, the bee does not seem to have any trouble finding what it needs from it.
ReplyDeleteIts very dry here and water restrictions abound so our flowers have seen better days too.

ReplyDeleteYou'll have a lot of company with your weather...it's been getting more humid here all day Sunday and Monday we'll have the heat index between 105 and 110. UGH! The humidity has been brutal this summer.

ReplyDeleteEven though it's raining and flowers blooms very seldom butterflies, bees and skippers still comes and stops by the remaining flowers in the garden and I like it! That bee is very photogenic!
ReplyDeleteThe lovely little bee doesn't seem to mind that the flower petals are wilting. I remember the summer heat and humidity of the East Coast vividly. We have triple digits but the humidity is low. Stay cool and try not to wilt.

ReplyDeleteNeat picture Carletta. Every time I see a picture of a bumblebee I remember getting in their nests as a kid and getting stung. Got stung by a wasp a couple weeks ago...first time in a long time.

I love the bokeh in this picture, it makes this photo look like an oil painting. Yaaay for warm weather. It's been raining far too much in Belgium these last couple of weeks, I would LOVE to have some more warm days again.

ReplyDeleteSo nice to see bees! We have had hardly any here this year... and no dandylions as a consequence. Make you realize that if even dandylions can't survive, losing bees is a scary thing... But anyway. Beautiful photo as always.
