Sunday night I looked out my sun room window and noticed the moon glowing high in the sky.The cloud formations behind the moon reminded me of a beach with the tracks of dune buggies embedded in the sand. Often when I take shots of the moon I get the green reflection that I know distracts some folks; but I like that it gives the photo an otherworldly feel. :)
Seventeen minutes later when the clouds had dissipated I took this more traditional photo of the moon high in the sky. There certainly was a big ole' moon that night. The Black Pearl (that is indeed the factory named paint color for my Jeep) had just been washed and waxed and was a perfect canvas on which to capture these sky reflections.

Wonderful shots of the moon and I also love the reflection of the sky in your jeep.
ReplyDeleteYour moon shots turned out a LOT better than mine! I love how you can see all the markings on the moon! Great reflection shot of the clouds on the car, too!

Love your moon shots, Carletta! They're both terrific and so different to have been taken so close together. And the reflected clouds are marvelous! Happy 4th! Enjoy your weekend!

I like your first moon picture. I've tried to get the moon shining through clouds, but haven't had any success so far.
ReplyDeleteYour jeep did a wonderful job of capturing the reflections of the sky.
Carletta: Fun captures, loved the moody moon.
ReplyDeleteThat first shot does look like you drove the jeep across the clouds.

The moon shots are lovely! I thought somehow of alien space vehicles making those tracks.
ReplyDeleteYes the moon and sky are beautiful. But your Jeep is TOOOO clean! I think I'm jealous ;>)
Beautiful moon shots, and a great looking jeep too :).

Beautiful moon shot, Carletta! The clouds are neat looking! Great reflections of the sky on the Jeep windows.
ReplyDeleteThe first image is really neat Carletta.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you about the other-worldliness of your first photo. At first, I thought the second circle was a reflection of the moon on the clouds.
ReplyDeleteGreat moon shots. Love the first one. A clear filter on your lens would explain the reflection although it is rather fun to see twin moons in the sky.
ReplyDeleteNice reflections! You were definitely paying attention to see these. :)
ReplyDeleteThe first moon shot gives the mood - lovely - and the second is impressively clear (I've been trying to get a good moon shot without much success... it's not easy!) Very neat the reflection on Black Pearl.
ReplyDeleteThose moon shots are absolutely amazing! Wow. I need to get a new camera :)
ReplyDeleteI used to view the moon as a special "good morning" to Ellie when she was in China. I love how she (as many children do) enjoys looking for the moon now with me. I will definitely have to show her your gorgeous pictures! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that first moon shot!
