Ruby Red Strawberry At The Cemetery

Memorial day weekend Hubs and I were visiting the family cemetery where his parents, grandparents and some siblings are buried. Here in the rural areas of West Virginia, folks would say we were in the middle of nowhere and by all accounts we were. Not a single house for miles and miles and no cell tower for reception. As I was making my way down the hill after placing flowers on the gravesites I looked down at my feet and discovered this one wild strawberry. I looked for more but there was only this one. I didn't pick it.
God planted something for me to smile about.

  3. Excellent.
Not everyone has the sensitivity to realize that God is at work around us all of the time. We just have to stop and admire His work, even in the smallest of treasures.
    Have a great RT.

  5. Hi Carletta!
    Thanks for coming by!
That's a luscious looking strawberry; you have a lot of self-control. The wild ones are so much better tasting than the domestic, tho' they are a lot smaller.
Hope your PC feels better soon!

  6. Glad you got to visit the cemetery on Memorial Day. And seeing that one little strawberry must have been a sign from your loved ones ---saying that they are all FINE.... I'm glad you smiled when you saw that little beauty...
    Hugs,

  8. Indeed, this looks like a divine addition to the cemetery. If it is so far away that it is difficult to leave flowers, a beautiful wildflower of sorts near the gravestones - the color of life. Wonderful capture!

  9. I'm glad you left it. If the seeds from the berry germinate there may be many more strawberries in years to come. :)

  10. Lovely. One, poor lonely little strawberry, though. Are you short of bees in WV? We are here. I'm noticing that there aren't so many dandylions in the yard this year. I miss the bees and the weeds.
