Last week I trimmed a couple of branches from my forsythia bush and brought them inside to force them to bloom. They have since blossomed and add a little touch of Spring to the center of my dining room table. I took quite a few shots that I really like and I'll be sharing more later this week.
I like the softness of this one taken in the natural light of the window. It is straight out of the camera with no cropping. All I did was add a small frame.

buttery looking, soft yellow is perfect. The stamen is exquisite.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Carletta. I used to love to do that with forsythia. You may be the only person who can make a picture look better than the subject! I kind of miss the spring flowers down here in the subtropics.
ReplyDeletegreat one, it looks so soft and silky. Like the angle of this one too!
ReplyDeleteNice macro, Carletta. I love Forsythia blossoms. Yellow is one of my all-time favorite colors. Our Forsythias here are not anywhere near ready to bloom. In fact, our Crocuses are the only blooms we have so far. And now---it's turning cold again!!!! Geeessshhh.

Forsythia blossoms always mean that Spring has arrived as far as I'm concerned. This is a beautiful picture.
ReplyDeleteA stunning macro, Carletta! Can't wait to see the rest of them! I love the soft edges and the lighting. There are some tiny buds on my forsythia but they are clamped shut. I hope your knee feels much better tomorrow, my friend!
ReplyDeleteBoy if I could only do my marcros half this good...1/4 this good. Well done. I love it :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot! I wish the flower was on our dining room table :). I love straight out of the camera photos. Have a wonderful week, Carletta.
ReplyDeleteStunning macro!

Ooooh, Carletta, it's sooo pretty! I like the softness, also, & the natural light! Very nice, Very nice!!!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely!
ReplyDeleteOur neighbour has a forsythia which droops over to our side of the fence. I often cut a few sprays when it flowers - but I hadn't thought to pick it in bud and force it. I might do that, thanks! :)
Sometimes I forget to look at the individual blooms and just see the forsythia bush as a whole. The blooms are quite pretty.
ReplyDeleteGlowing gorgeous shot. I especially like that you have the flower pointing to the right so artistically. Very nice bokeh.

ReplyDeleteLovely capture. I have yet to get a decent shot of this beautiful blossom.
ReplyDeleteahhh- VERY nice, Carletta!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing these plants on visits to my sister when she lived in Pa. They do not grow here so it was a new thrill for me! (lol-YES- flowers DO qualify as 'thrills' for me!)
You did a great job with this shot, too, and I'll be watching for more pics later in the week.

I like the softness of this as well, quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteI use the blooming forsythia as a calendar for lawn care. Your lovely photo scared me... I thought I was behind schedule.
ReplyDeleteThe way you've isolated that single forsythia bloom is delicious Carletta. The colors, the textures and the mood are perfect. Thanks for stopping by. I see the little creature in the foreground as well.
ReplyDeleteI love the focus in the heart of the flower, very well done!
ReplyDeleteThis is superb! I LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea and a lovely shot. I used to not like forsythia, but it's grown on me over the years. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Forsythia
ReplyDeleteSo much better than the ones I have posted....
