Ruby Tuesday

It was certainly beginning to look a lot like Christmas on Saturday when we woke to find a dusting of snow on the porch decorations that had just been put up Friday afternoon. I don't know about you but when it snows I'm like a kid again. I love the fluffy stuff.
If you missed it I posted a rose on top of the snow yesterday on my photoblog, here. This is another version of the same rose a few hours later.

  3. The look of the season is undeniably beautiful, and I imagine the WVA hills look just right in snow! I have mixed feelings about the white precipitation when trying to motor my 'chair in more than 1 inch - but the seasonal beauty of the pure white snow is wonderful. I have to admit that I prefer a four season climate, and Winter and Christmas go together so well...

  4. Both of those shots are beautiful! I LOVE the red against the clean pure white snow!

I'm only like a kid with snow when we get a LOT of it! These little messy piddly snows drive me nuts! I want 3 feet ... or none! LOL! Picky, aren't I?

  5. A beautiful dusting you've shown us. We woke up to a dusting Sunday morning here in Connecticut.

I don't mind dustings.. but too much snow is not as much fun as it once was.

    Happy Ruby Tuesday!

  6. Love the rose on the snow. The bits of white and wet are cool on the warming nature of the red rose.

  11. For some reason red is the only color I enjoy seeing covered with snow.
It's snowing up here as we speak. Winter has finally arrived.
    Happy RT.

  14. Wow! The red and white are so awesome together! Our snow here was my favorite kind: heavy and wet enough to stick to the trees but leave the roads clear. Beautiful.

  16. Carletta,

These are very beautiful. Love the look of that red rose in the snow...but I would have had to rescue it! :)

...Catching up with you here; I've missed a few posts. Love that shadow picture a lot, too!

I have a RT post up this time! (very busy with other things lately!)

  19. These are just stunning. I like this photo of the rose better because of the snow on it. That photo of the rose should be sent into some magazine I tell you. I just love it :)

  25. Red looks great on a white background. No snow here yet; it is far too warm.

  26. What beautiful photos, Carletta! I like the contrasts with the snow and with the grey tones.

The rose is stunning, not only in its form, but also in the way you captured it. I like the effects of the snow and the tiny droplets. Beautiful.

  27. Oh wow! they are all so beautiful what a great contrast. The rose is pretty looking lying in that snow. Ha, I'm missing the snow...I do like to play too.

  35. Wonderful captures, Carletta!! Simple and elegant. I can't make up my mind which one I like the most. The rose is stunning but there's just something about a snow-covered bow that really makes it feel like Christmas.

I'm also like a kid when it snows. I've been known to run outside with my camera...without coat, hat or gloves. They promised us snow two weekends in a row and didn't deliver. Thank you for providing my snow fix!
