Ruby Tuesday: A Last Look

I thought for Ruby Tuesday I would post the last of the autumn color in my corner of the world. I took this last Thursday while on a drive and in less than a week the landscapes around me in just those few days have entered their brown-out period and many trees are bare of leaves. I hope you enjoy this one last colorful look!

  1. It's the living end of colorful foliage here in CT. Very few splashes of reds, yellow and orange. Tan is the predominate here, no color for us until the azaleas bloom in May...

  2. One final blaze of glory -- and soon all will be white.

  3. Carletta, that is beautiful! I am sure hating to see it end. This has been one of the most beautiful autumns.

I just hope we get at least one good snow and that I am able to be out and about in it.

  4. Oh man... my first thought was that this looks like one of those fruit flavored kids cereals. So many different, rich colors!. A pity they don't last longer.

Just a couple of hundred miles south, we're still pretty green. But give it a week or 10 days and we'll be burning bright just like this.

    For a little while anyway.

  8. Beautiful. The colors blend so gently, they almost seem like an impressionist painting.

It's so sad when winter comes, but just makes us more anxious for spring.

  17. Hi Carlleta, I forgot there was something RED in a big way in W.Va. Our trees are starting to fade, the reds will show up at the end of the month and in December.

  20. A beautiful shot, Carletta! Our fall has been just as glorious as yours. We still have leaves but they won't last much longer if these winds keep up!
