Most of you who read my blog on a regular basis know I have a plethora of deer in my yard. I have watched two small fawns grow up this summer. This first image is of the oldest fawn. If you look closely you can see just a faint spots around the neck. It's wonderful to see them get older but I miss "the baby" stage already.
This image was taken from my deck and a farther distance than is optimal for my zoom but it is the youngest fawn. You can still see quite a few spots but they will soon be gone as well.
Be sure to enlarge this one to see the detail. They were way out of range but I had to try. Having two bucks in the yard at the same time was too good to pass up. Bucky is on the right. He's the eight-point I've posted before. The one on the left is a smaller four-point. He has visited off and on but they've never been here together.I took all of these here at home just last week.

It must be SO wonderful to have deer to look at all the time. I have critter envy. I especially love that second photo. How lovely it is to share your view.
ReplyDeleteI just visited all of your posts. I loved the hand painting effect on Rub y Tuesday and the bridge photos were spectacular, but I must say that I love the deer the best. You are so blessed in where you live.

ReplyDeleteAw. I JUST watched our family of 4 cross my driveway. I thought I should try to get a picture of them but I really would have had to go out. And then they would run. And I'd rather they not run. So I didn't. I'm glad you are able to capture yours from inside! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Carletta! It's great that you can see those deer at close quarters. In my garden you'll see the odd toad, frog or hedgehog and some birds. Then we sometimes ducks in the garden. Thanks for showing!

Carletta: Fun capture of the deer. I had a doe with two fawns twenty feet away from me tonight. I didn't have my camera and one of the fawns was a button buck. I watched them cross the street.
