    Wow. Almost a shame that such pieces of history are rusting away. I think train travel is one of the best ways to get from here to there. I love the clickety-clack sound the train makes as it speeds down the iron rails to your destiny. From Ohio to San Francisco by train, in uniform, was an experience I should never forget.

    Your photographs brings back so many memories and for those I am grateful.

    Great doors trains are just brill, you have captured a bit of history as they will not be around much longer by the llok of them.

    There are trains on my blog somewhere, taken in York Museum England.

    Now those are great train doors! I'll have to go back and listen to the song too. It sounded like the perfect accompaniment for the photo but I hit the comment button before I heard much of it.

    I love those blue trains...wherever did you discover them? I also went back and looked at your covered bridges...very lovely. It's funny how only certain parts of the country had covered bridges. I know there are some in New England as well. I also enjoyed your entry on flat boats...very cool.

    Gosh, I want to shield my ears in anticipation of the loud train noises and shrill screaming of doors that badly need lubrication. Wonderful piccies, Carletta! These are way up close and personal.

    Whenever I see train doors it always takes me back to the days when I was growing up and the train ran by our house. It had a caboose then and the guys on it would always wave at us.

    I always wanted a caboose for a playhouse!
