'Hee-Haw'

A few weeks ago Theresa posted donkeys from her area and then Rose did from hers. I mentioned to both that my neighbor had a couple and I needed to get some photos. As Hubs and I left one day to go out I lucked out that as we traveled our rural road headed for the main highway the donkeys were at the fence alongside the road. Our neighbor uses them to protect his cattle. Apparently they are deterrents to coyotes. I haven't seen a coyote in our midst but another neighbor has told us he has seen one as he comes in at night from work and unfortunately some neighborhood cats have disappeared. With that said these sweet faced donkeys are a welcome sight.

Linking up with Theresa for Good Fences.

I think they are cute! I didn't know that about donkeys and coyotes. We have coyotes here too. My neighbor saw one coming out of the woods behind her house.

These little animals are real characters. I notice they have company in their pasture....Canada geese in the background.

KAREN AND OTHERS: THE FENCE IS SET UP LIKE AN ELECTRIC FENCE BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE ELECTRIC ON IT.

Such cute donkeys. I had no idea they were deterrents to coyotes. I love to learn new things while reading through blogs!

Revlon would kill for their eyeliner!

sweet face, but kicked back ears and a tucked tail? that would deter me.

Lol, they put wooden cut-out coyotes in crop fields here to deter the Canadian geese.

That last donkey looks like he posed for you. I feel sorry for the first one, he looks very uncomfortable with his tail drawn inward.

Oh they do have sweet faces. I'm glad you stopped to get their pictures. I wonder what it is about a Donkey though that a Coyote would be afraid of them.

They're so sweet ... I had no idea they'd be a deterrent to coyotes. They seem so unthreatening. But how wonderful if it works!

I never knew about donkeys guarding a herd but just read they are very protective and will paw, kick, and charge. Never know what you might learn reading blogs!

I know they can be quite mean. I've always tried to steer clear of them. They bite you know.
