Today's Flowers: A Centerpiece

Most of you know I went to visit my Daughter for the holidays. A few days before I arrived she had attended her office Christmas party. She was able to bring home the centerpiece from the table where she was sitting. The plant had passed its prettiest state but Cindy had wanted me to see it. I felt the beautiful burgandy color was still pretty enough to photograph.
I love how the white petal is reaching up and caressing the flower above it.

Anturiums! My mom always have those! And they last long even when cut, enjoy your week!

the anthurium really stands out with its colour, and the lily (it is a lily, right?) adds a nice (naughty?) touch

Thanks for your visit.

Lovely. Sometimes a flower that looks like it's been somewhere is the prettiest of all, because it feels real and alive.

It is nice that your daughter could take the flower arrangement home and still enjoy it while it lasts.

Anthuriums come in many colors. You did an excellent job photographing this. Sometimes the flowers are so glossy they reflect the light and their true colors don't really show.

I love the red one...the color is so pure bloody red that it looks nice on the white creeping up to it's side.

Got an orange one, Carletta. :-)

It is funny but I looked at this while at work and the flower looked red. I am at the public library today and it looks a maroon, wine color.
